Rhythm X Alumni Helps Reach Spaceflight Milestone

At Rhythm X, Inc. we're no strangers to alumni doing amazing things, and it's no secret that musicians tend to be highly-dedicated, intelligent, and shoot-for-the-moon type people. We're really proud of our alumni - and we have an awesome list called The X Numbers to prove it.

Jules Scogna (#196), second from right, poses with other marimba players after Rhythm X won the PIW Gold Medal in 2009.

Jules Scogna can be found on that list at #196. Today he's a pretty proud guy, having just successfully landed the first reusable rocket launched into space. Jules is an employee at Blue Origin, the private spaceflight company led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Jules posted about his accomplishment on Facebook:

Blue Origin posted a video of the event on their YouTube channel:

Blue Origin's New Shepard space vehicle successfully flew to space, reaching its planned test altitude of 329,839 feet (100.5 kilometers) before executing a historic landing back at the launch site in West Texas.
