“enLIGHTened”

 

In 2012, Rhythm X will bring ‘enLIGHTened’ to life.  Look for themes of Personal Enlightenment, the Age of Enlightenment and many actual lights to combine with Rhythm X’s trademark athleticism, musicality and innovation.

Rhythm X will be performing locally in the Mid-East Performance Association and nationally at the WGI Dayton Regional, Indianapolis Regional, Mid-South Percussion Championship and World Championships.

Rhythm X was founded in 2002 and is under the direction of Tim Jackson and Craig Dunn. In their inaugural season in WGI, Rhythm X was the PIO Champion and since joining World Class has medalled six times, winning the PIW Championship in 2008 and 2009. Designing together since 2008, Tim Fairbanks, Tim Jackson and Andrew Markworth all return to the design team to bring you Rhythm X 2012… “enLIGHTened”.

I want to extend a special thank you to Mr. Brian Moore, and the rest of the music education instructors at Westland High School.  Without your incredible help and cooperation, we would not be able to survive as an ensemble.  We are truly grateful for every opportunity you have awarded us with thus far, and hope only to enrich our relationship through the remainder of the season.
Our next rehearsal is this coming weekend (Oct. 21st-23rd), at Westland High School.  We will begin promptly at 8:00pm, but you may arrive at the school as early as 7:30pm to begin setting up for rehearsal.  Members of the battery, please come prepared with proper attire this weekend to begin our staging process!
Rhythm X is excited to prepare for our season’s first showcase at PASIC 2011, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  At PASIC, we will be providing the percussion community with a unique, in-depth look at the indoor percussion activity, and how we prepare for the amazing competition we will no doubt experience all season long.  More details will follow soon regarding the clinic, but anyone who is able to come out and witness a sneak peek at the 2012 production is more than welcome!

We can not wait to get started developing the 2012 Rhythm X program!

Please meet at Westland High School at 7:30 PM to begin our unload, rehearsal will start at 8:00 PM.  Member contracts will be finalized and completed this weekend.  Please come prepared to work hard and have a great time!
