DESIGN Coordinator

Reports to: Assistant Director

Summary:

The Design Coordinator is the creative force behind Rhythm X's visual identity, turning the design team's ideas into reality. This involves managing projects, building props, and working with vendors to create the best possible look for the ensemble.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create plans, budgets, and timelines for design elements of the Rhythm X show.

  • Work with the design team to understand their vision and bring it to life.

  • Coordinate the building of props and other visual elements with volunteers and Rhythm X staff.

  • Arrange for storage and transportation of props.

  • Ensure uniforms and the tarp are ordered in a timely manner.

  • Recruit volunteers to assist with needed tasks, such as sewing, welding, carpentry, etc.

  • Work with sponsors and vendors to get needed materials and manage funds in a responsible way.

  • Be a central point of communication between the design team, staff, volunteers, and members about the props and design elements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Great at organizing and paying attention to details.

  • Able to plan and manage projects.

  • Strong communication skills, both speaking and writing.

  • Creative problem-solver who can find solutions quickly.

  • Takes initiative and can work independently.

  • Regular in-person attendance will be needed.

  • Experience building things is helpful but not required; the most important function of this role is to be a strong project manager.
