OPERATIONS TEAM

Summary:

The Operations team is responsible for making sure Rhythm X gets from auditions to WGI Finals night safely, efficiently and smoothly! This role is best suited for individuals who are proactive, flexible, and calm under pressure. This team handles a large and diverse amount of tasks, and new responsibilities may arise throughout the season. The team will include several individuals and will be given flexibility in deciding how to divide up these tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help with rehearsals, competitions, and event operations. This encompasses a wide variety of tasks such as setting up supplies, picking up/serving food, coordinating volunteers, transporting items, and managing logistics

  • Serve as a responsible and professional representative of Rhythm X to members, staff, families, volunteers, drivers, etc.

  • Attend weekly virtual team meetings

  • Available to be present for 75% of the season, including doing “opening” or “closing” shifts four times a month. This means arriving before a rehearsal (Friday evenings) or staying after a rehearsal (Sunday afternoon) to take care of the rehearsal facility. While it is not expected to attend every weekend, we look for someone who is flexible and excited about working together in person. Rehearsals are primarily in the Indianapolis area with some travel to Ohio expected.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proactive communicator

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to complete tasks according to deadlines

  • Collaborative and a good team player

  • Willingness to learn, grow, and accept feedback

  • Passionate about marching arts / youth education

  • Ability and willingness to do physical work (like moving items from one place to another) in a variety of weather conditions

  • Reliable transportation is required; willingness to drive a box truck is a plus

  • Familiarity with Notion, Slack, and Google Suite tools is a plus
