Alex “Scoot” Huizen

Cymbals

Alex began his marching career in 2009 with the Jenison High School Marching Band. He has performed with Genesis Percussion, Rhythm X, and the Madison Scouts. After aging out, Alex would return to the organizations he marched with as a cymbal instructor. He has been involved in several cymbal educational clinics, most notably at PASIC as a performer with Rhythm X, a clinician for Seavine, and most recently as a Sabian artist. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2020 with an M.A. in Environmental Design and works full-time as a playground designer.

Alex is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and currently resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Abby, and dog, Findlay.
